Kermes (Nüsttal)

The hamlet of Kermes belongs to the Hessian community of Nüsttal in the Fulda district . The place is about one kilometer west of Gotthards an der Nüst .

On August 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Gotthards with Kermes was incorporated into the municipality of Nüsttal as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

history

The place is first mentioned in 1334 as "Kesemars". The Lords of Buchenau had pledged goods in Kermes in 1342. At the end of the 15th century the place had become desolate .

After the resettlement, Kermes belonged to the Bieberstein Oberamt of the Fulda Monastery .
