Communities Keshem

The Keshem is a left tributary of the Koktscha in the Badakhshan province in northeast Afghanistan .

The Keshem rises in a glaciated mountain range of the Hindu Kush - about 45 km northwest of the Kuh-e Bandaka . It initially flows in a west-north-westerly direction, later in a north-north-westerly direction through the mountains, before flowing into the Koktscha on the left. The last 20 km the Keshem flows through a wide valley. There is Keshem , the administrative center of the Keshem district , on the right bank of the river. The Keshem has a length of 90 km. It drains an area of ​​around 2150 km².
