Kevin Brockmeier

Kevin John Brockmeier (born December 6, 1972 in Little Rock , Arkansas ) is an American writer. He has published short stories and some short novels and children's books .

He was first known through short stories in renowned magazines such as The New Yorker and McSweeney's . He has already received numerous awards for this. His most recent short novel Stadt der Toten (Original: The Brief History of the Dead ) is the expansion of a short story of the same name published on September 8, 2003 in The New Yorker , which practically represented the first chapter.

Awards

  • O. Henry Prize : 2002 for The Ceiling in McSweeney's (First Prize), 1999 for These Hands in The Georgia Review and 2005 for The Brief History of the Dead in The New Yorker .
