Kevin Herron

Kevin Herron (* 1979 / 1980 ) is a US-American - German football coach .

Life

Herron came to Germany as a teenager, where his father worked for the US armed forces . From 1999 Herron was a trainer in the junior division of the Munich NFA Monarchs. In 2005 he joined the coaching staff of the second division Königsbrunn Ants , where he was promoted to head coach before the 2006 season. He held this position in 2006 and 2007, and in the 2008 game year Herron moved to the Munich Cowboys , where he worked in the top German league GFL in  2008 and 2009 as a defense coordinator and trainer for the linebacker position. In the 2010 season he was in the same league with the Plattling Black Hawks on the staff of head coach John Rosenberg .

In 2011 Herron moved to Austria to the Swarco Raiders Tirol and took over the position of assistant trainer for the linebackers at Innsbruck . Herron interned several times with the football team at Florida State University and was also a guest coach for the Oakland Raiders in the NFL . In addition, he was temporarily a member of the coaching staff of Bavaria's youth team . In Innsbruck he worked with head coach Shuan Fatah  and contributed to winning the Austrian championship twice (2011, 2015) and winning the  2011 Eurobowl . In autumn 2015, Herron was introduced as the new head coach of the Munich Cowboys.

Herron returned to the Swarco Raiders Tirol for the 2017 season and from then on held the position of defense coordinator for the team, again under Fatah. In 2018 and 2019 they won the state championship again, the 2019 season was contested without defeat. After Fatah announced his departure from the team in September 2019, Herron was promoted to head coach by the Innsbruck team in mid-December 2019.
