Shuan Fatah

Shuan Fatah (* 1968 in Berlin ) is a German American football coach and former player.

career

As a player, Fatah won the German championship with the Berlin Adlers in 1987, 1989 and 1990. From 1991 he was employed by the same club as a coach, initially supervising the defensive ranks of the capital city and contributed to the German championship title in 1991 on the training ground and on the sidelines. In 1992 and 1993 he was responsible for coordinating the defense of the Adler ; in 1994, as in 1991, he was in charge of the Berlin’s defensive backs ; he also worked in the junior division and won the German junior championship in 1994 as head coach of the Adler youth. In 1995 he was again defense coordinator of the Adler men and was promoted to head coach in 1996. From 1996 he was also a member of the coaching staff of Nichols College (US state Massachusetts ) and stayed there until 1998, but was also employed in Germany in the meantime.

In the 1997 Bundesliga season, Fatah worked as a defense coordinator for the Berlin Rebels , and in 1998 he moved to Munich , where he held the same position for the Munich Cowboys for one season as he had previously with the Berliners. Between 1998 and 2004 Fatah held various positions (coordinator for players with special tasks, trainer for running back , tight end and linebacker positions ) at Berlin Thunder in the NFL Europe . With the team he won the 2001, 2002 and 2004 World Bowl , the championship final of the NFL Europe.

In 2005 and 2006, he held senior positions in player and football development for the NFL and NFL Europe. Fatah returned to coaching in 2007, was responsible for looking after the players in the running back position of the Hamburg Sea Devils (also NFL Europe) and won the World Bowl with the North Germans. In the 2008 season he worked as head coach of the Dresden Monarchs , and from 2009 to 2010 he was again head coach of the Berlin Adlers. He led the Adler to win the German championship in 2009, and in 2010 he won the Eurobowl with the team . After the defeat in the final of the German championship against Kiel in October 2010, he announced his departure from the Eagles and from the 2011 season held the position of head coach at the Swarco Raiders in Innsbruck . In his tenure, which lasted until September 2019, he led the Tyroleans  to five Austrian championship titles together with his attack coordinator Lee Rowland , won the Central European Football League three times , the final of the ECTC (European Club Team Competition), the Eurobowl and the Superfinal. He ended his term in Innsbruck following a defeatless game year in 2019. In addition to his work as a club coach, he became head coach of the Austrian national team in November 2015. He stayed in office until mid-November 2019.

In mid-October 2019, Fatah was introduced as the new head coach of the GFL team Hildesheim Invaders .

Fatah has already worked as a specialist commentator for several broadcasters (including Eurosport , ProSieben Maxx and DAZN ) in the context of American football broadcasts.
