Lee Rowland (* 1953 ) is a British football coach .

career

Rowland, who completed an apprenticeship as a steel worker and played football in the position of linebacker with the Croydon Coyotes, began his coaching career in his home country, the United Kingdom : Between 1984 and 1987 he was a member of the coaching staff of the Merton Admirals and coached the team the British second division the offensive line . From 1988 to 1991 he was the head coach of the SMC Admirals. In the run-up to the 2005 season, Rowland took up service as head coach of the second division club Darmstadt Diamonds , led the team to GFL promotion in his first year in office and then looked after them in the top German division in 2006. He led Darmstadt as a climber to the GFL quarter-finals, where they were eliminated against the future German champions, the Braunschweig Lions . In 2007 Rowland was a member of the coaching staff of the Cologne Centurions ( NFL Europe ) and was responsible for looking after players with special tasks and running backs at Cologne . After the end of the season in the NFL Europe, the Briton was on the coaching staff at Webber International University in the US state of Florida .

On January 1, 2008, Rowland took up the post of assistant coach responsible for the offensive line and the running game at the Dresden Monarchs and worked for the Saxons under head coach Shuan Fatah . He also worked with Fatah in 2009 and 2010 for the Berlin Adlers . As coordinator of the attack game, Rowland was involved in the Berlin championship title in 2009, the 2010 runner-up and winning the 2010 Eurobowl.

In 2011 he joined the Swarco Raiders in Austria with Fatah , where he was also the coordinator of the attack game. By the end of the 2019 season, Rowland won five Austrian championship titles as assistant coach with the Tyroleans, the Eurobowl in 2011, again reached the Eurobowl in 2013 and 2016 (but lost there), won three times in the Central European Football League and won the final once each the ECTC (European Club Team Competition) and the Superfinal. During his tenure in Tyrol in November 2013 he was a guest trainer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After leaving Austria, Rowland moved back to Germany together with Fatah and accepted an offer from the Hildesheim Invaders in the run-up to the 2020 season , in which the "offensive specialist" again acted as the attack coordinator under head coach Fatah.
