Kevin Kane (born February 16, 1983 in Rinteln ) is a British biathlete .

Kevin Kane lives in Dumfries, Scotland and is a soldier in the 40th Regiment Royal Artillery . The athlete, trained by Walter Pichler , previously by Jason Sklenar , started biathlon in 2000 and has been a member of the British national team since 2005. That year Kane also competed in his first international races as part of the European Biathlon Cup . The first highlight was the 2006 European biathlon championships in Langdorf with places 61 in the individual, 75 in the sprint and 17 in the relay.

At the beginning of the 2006/07 season , the Briton made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in Östersund as 109th of an individual . Logically, after one season in the World Cup, the major event of the season was the Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholz . Kane entered three races, 98th in the individual, 95th in the sprint and 21st in the relay. Shortly afterwards he ran towards the end of the season in Lahti as 84th of an individual on his best World Cup result to date. In 2008 Kane started both at the World Championships in Östersund and the European Championships in Nové Město na Moravě . The 85th place in the individual of the world championship is also the second best result in the world cup of the Briton. In the sprint he came in 102nd place, with the relay he was 23rd. In Nove Mesto he achieved good results with 64th place in the individual, 51st in the sprint, 49th in the pursuit and 15 with the relay.

Nationally, Kane won five titles, in 2005 and 2006 in team competition, and in 2006 with the relay. In 2010 he won the sprint and mass start. There are also five runner-up titles and six third places.
