Andrew Vincent Canzanello (born December 1, 1981 in Rochester , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player .

Career

Canzanello in the jersey of the Straubing Tigers (2012).

Canzanello, who grew up in Minnesota, was active as an 18-year-old for the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League . From 2000 to 2004 he was in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the team of Colorado College on the ice. There he made it as a defender among the top five scorers on his team.

After years in college, the left shooter played in the 2004/05 season in the ECHL for the San Diego Gulls and in the American Hockey League for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks , two farm teams of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim from the National Hockey League . For the 2005/06 season Canzanello moved to the Syracuse Crunch , for which he was on the ice for two years. In 2006 the American was invited to a training camp by the NHL team Columbus Blue Jackets , whereupon the German DEL club Straubing Tigers became aware of the defender. For the 2007/08 season the defender was signed by Straubing. There he was able to distinguish himself as a striker in addition to a consistent defensive performance, as he was already set up as an offensive force several times by coach Erich Kühnhackl and later by his successor Bob Manno . Canzanello played a total of eight seasons in Straubing from 2007 to 2015, making him the longest-serving Tiger. He played a total of 391 games for Bayern, achieved 160 scorer points and was involved in the club's greatest success to date when he made it to the play-off semi-finals in 2012.
