Kevin Magdowski

Kevin Alexander Magdowski (born December 26, 1977 in Berlin ) is a German basketball coach .

career

Born in Berlin, Magdowski worked as a trainer at DBV Charlottenburg in the 1990s, then in 1998/99 at TSV Schwaben Augsburg, 1999/2000 at TS Herzogenaurach and between 2000 and 2002 at VSC Donauwörth.

From 2002 to 2007 he worked as head coach of the men's team of the BG Rotenburg / Scheeßel in the first and second regional leagues and was also active as a trainer for the Lower Saxony Basketball Association.

In 2007 he became a coach at the Luxembourg first division club BBC Résidence Walferdange and remained in office until autumn 2008. Further coaching positions followed in the Grand Duchy: in 2009/10 he was a coach at Avanti Mondorf , in 2010/11 he worked as a youth coordinator at Sparta Bertrange , from 2011 to November 2013 again as a coach at the BBC Résidence, from December 2013 to 2016 at AS Zolver and in the 2016/17 game year with the Kordall Steelers . At times he was also responsible as a coach for Luxembourg's U16 team.

Before the 2014/15 season Magdowski was announced as the new coach of Citybasket Recklinghausen ( 2nd Bundesliga ProB ), but the collaboration did not materialize.

In summer 2017 he worked as a coach for the Colombian team Águilas de Tunja. After his return to Walferdingen , he worked for the BBC Résidence as a coach of the women's team.

In December 2017 he moved back to his home country, Magdowski took the position of head coach at Phoenix Hagen ( 2nd Bundesliga ProA ). On November 10, 2018, one day after Phoenix Hagen's defeat in the game against the Tigers Tübingen and the associated slippage to a relegation zone, Magdowski was released from his employer. On November 19, 2018, Magdowski took up his new role as coach of Sparta Bertrange in the Luxembourg Total League. In summer 2019 he was an assistant coach on the staff of the German U18 girls' national team.

In mid-January 2020 he took up the position of coach at the third division club SG ART Giants Düsseldorf .
