Back in the US, Hall met Jay Fenichel, whom he knew from university, and they wrote two shows that they put on in nightclubs. The two also ran an office where they used their acting talent for product promotion. At the time, both of them also played roles in television productions. Due to his enormous height (2.20 m), Hall became a sought-after actor for monsters and aliens, but also played some guest roles unmasked (e.g. in the last episode of Ein Duke rarely comes alone ). A small career boost brought him a leading role in the television series The Specialists on the Road in 1985 , which was discontinued after only 16 episodes. In 1987 he played the creatures in Bigfoot and the Hendersons and Predator . In the latter, Hall can also be seen briefly unmasked as a helicopter pilot.

His last leading roles were again the creatures in Predator 2 and the sitcom Harry and the Hendersons , an offshoot of the movie Bigfoot and the Hendersons . The role of Bigfoot took over after Hall's death Dawan Scott, who had already played two supporting roles in The Specialists on the Move . From 1992 Brian Steele was in a fur costume.

From 1989 to 1990 Hall starred in the series 227 . While filming, he met Alaina Reed . The two married in 1989, both in the series and in real life.

In autumn 1990 he was injured in a traffic accident. During the treatment he was given a blood bag infected with HIV . On 10 April 1991 Hall died as a result of his weakened immune system at a pneumonia .
