Kevin Prufer
Kevin Prufer (born October 22, 1969 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American poet , editor and essayist .
Life
Prufer completed his studies with a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA from Hollins University . He then went to Washington University in St. Louis , Missouri , where he obtained an MFA
Today (2011) Prufer is Professor of the English Language at the University of Houston and Editor of the literary journal Pleiades: A Journal of New Writing .
For his work he has received prizes and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in the literature category:
- 2002: Pushcart Prize
Prufer lives in Houston , Texas with artist and critic Mary Hallab .
