The Kewet Buddy is a three-door light electric vehicle or electric car with EU homologation manufactured by the Norwegian company Buddy Electric . After the bankruptcy of the Danish / German predecessor company Kewet Industri in 1998 and the move to Norway, the vehicle was further developed from the Kewet 'EL Jet' (type 1 to 5) and the name that was bought with it was changed to Kewet 'Buddy'. The Kewet Buddy has been available since January 2010. Kewet 'Buddy Cab' is a variant with a folding roof.

particularities

  • The vehicle has a hot-dip galvanized tubular steel frame and a polyester body with ABS parts .
  • The vehicle offers space for three people thanks to a wide bench seat. The prerequisite for this is the presence of three separate seat belts .
  • When braking, part of the kinetic energy is converted into electrical current and fed to the accumulators (recuperation) .
  • Different types of accumulators can be ordered or installed.
  • When purchasing the version with nickel-metal hydride accumulators, the manufacturer grants a guarantee of 10 years or 100,000 km on the batteries.
  • There are other additional equipment details

Technical specifications

The maximum speed of the vehicle is 80 km / h, the range is up to 80 km with lead-acid batteries and up to 120 km with nickel-metal hydride . The power consumption is approx. 10 -17 kWh / 100 km; this corresponds to about 0.8 - 1.5 liters of petrol .

distribution

After another bankruptcy in 2012, production was resumed in small numbers in 2013. No distribution in Germany (as of 2013). A new vehicle can only be bought directly from the manufacturer Buddy Electric AS in Oslo.
