The Kexholms län was a Län of the Swedish Empire in Karelia .

It was created in 1634 as part of the administrative reform carried out by Axel Oxenstierna from parts of the Karelia landscape and existed as an administrative unit until 1721, when Sweden ceded the area to the Russian Empire in the Peace of Nystad . Sweden had not gained control of the area until 1617 in the Treaty of Stolbowo ; the residents were mostly Karelians .

The Kexholms län was named after its capital Kexholm , today's Priosersk , whose fortress was also the administrative center. The Län comprised the areas around the city west and north of Lake Ladoga ; in the east it was bounded by the border with Russia, in the south and west by Viborgs och Nyslotts län .
