Kfar Blum ( Hebrew כְּפַר בְּלוּם) is a kibbutz in the Hule Plain in northern Israel's Upper Galilee with 771 inhabitants (2018).
history
Kfar Blum was founded in November 1943 by members of the Zionist- socialist youth movement Habonim , today's Habonim Dror . The founding members came mainly from Great Britain , South Africa , the USA and the Baltic States . The kibbutz was named after Léon Blum , France's first socialist prime minister .
economy
The main economic basis of the kibbutz is the cultivation of cotton and fruits as well as dairies and a metalworking industry. In recent years, Kfar Blum has also grown due to increasing tourism. The location of the kibbutz on the Jordan and Hasbani rivers at the foot of Mount Hermon has made Kfar Blum a center for outdoor activities such as hiking , rafting and kayaking .
