Khamaed ( Dzongkha : ཁ་ སྨད་ ) is one of 4 Gewogs (blocks) of the Dzongkhags Gasa in northwestern Bhutan . Khamaed Gewog is in turn divided into 5 Chiwogs (constituencies). Around 900 people are said to live in this weight (as of the 2005 census, more recent estimates only assume 320 people) on an area of ​​149 km² in 25 (or 26) villages or hamlets in around 145 households.

In addition to the Gewog administration, there are two high schools, a station for basic health care, an office for the development of renewable natural resources (Renewable Natural Resource Extension Center), a branch of the national telephone company Bhutan Telecom and the head quarter of Jigme -Dorji National Park .

There are also two Buddhist monasteries, Sipchu Goenpa and Chodi Goenpa.
