Kharsia is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .
The city is part of the Raigarh district . Kharsia has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 15 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 18,939 inhabitants, of which 9750 were men and 9189 women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 85.2%, above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 93%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 5%.
Kharsia Station is part of the Haora-Nagpur-Mumbai line between Bilaspur and Jamshedpur .
