Khrome (* 1992 in Berlin ) is a German rapper who is under contract with the music distributor iGroove .

Career

Khrome was born in 1992 in the Schöneberg district of Berlin . At first he grew up with graffiti . He derived his pseudonym from the color chrome black, which is mainly used for tags . He got his spray cans from Downstairs , a trendy shop owned by Halil, one of the founders of Aggro Berlin . The releases of the independent label shaped him musically. Above all the tapes from Alles ist die Sekt and the albums Vom Bordstein bis zum Skyline von Bushido and Maske von Sidohe names inspirations. Since he had neither contacts to producers nor recording opportunities, Khrome initially saw rap as a hobby that he pursued in everyday life, for example in the form of freestyles .

In 2017, Khrome began recording herself and sharing the videos on Instagram . The rapper Kool Savas became aware of him this way. After the music distributor iGroove announced in early 2020 that Savas would be working in the position of A&R for the Swiss company, he introduced Khrome as his first artist in March. In an Instagram post, Savas praised Khromes' “ pure Berlin energy ”, which reminded him of his own early work. Khrome's signing of the contract with iGroove received coverage in numerous music media. In his debut single he raped with an " unmistakable anti-attitude " from the perspective of Hiphop.de . Laut.de, on the other hand, still criticized it as “ generic ”.
