The Kiebitz list was a list of citizens that ran for the first time in the state elections in Vorarlberg in 2009 and, with 0.2 percent of the vote, was the smallest of eight parties that failed to make it into the state parliament. The party was represented by the initiator Helmut Putz (businessman, * 1960) and Nicole Metzler (secretary, * 1973), both from Hard . Both work as seminar leaders and coaches .

Values and program

Putz, who completed several years of clown training in addition to a commercial and technical career , told the Vorarlberg portal online that he wanted to bring the "spirit" of humanity and basic values such as honesty, brotherhood, freedom and equality into the state parliament . Specifically, he named health, prosperity and education for everyone. With an election budget of around EUR 1000, he campaigned for parties to bear and drastically reduce their election campaign costs themselves.

Compared to the portal mehr-demokratie.at , the list mainly campaigned for a strengthening of media diversity , which is represented in Vorarlberg with a high number of non-commercial print and radio media , and against opening up voting rights for non- EU citizens . In addition, the list supported other questions asked about strengthening democracy and also set a topic of its own by advocating a referendum on basic security through basic income .

According to the party, the name "lapwing" is derived from the bird of the same name , which was almost exterminated in the Rhine delta and which is characterized as a migratory bird through wisdom, sincerity, its courage to defend the nest, and through cohesion and orientation . This would "also suit a politician."

Participation in elections

The party competed in the regional elections in Vorarlberg in 2009 in all four districts and achieved 0.19 percent with 331 valid votes (including six voting cards and 167 preferential votes, mainly in Bregenz). The list received votes from 96 municipalities in 59 municipalities, and it achieved its best election result in Eichenberg with 1.5%.

Top candidate Putz ran in the 1999 National Council election on Richard Lugner's list , The Independents , before he returned to politics as a party founder. After the state elections, he and his party no longer appeared. The domain of the former party homepage with the slogan “Die ALLrbeste Wahl” was given up.
