The Kienswiesenteich is a small artificial still water in Messel , Hesse.
geography
The Kienswiesenteich is located on the northern edge of Messel , west of the L3317 road . The southern and largest part of the pond is in the Messel district. The northern part of the pond is in the Dreieich district. The pond is used by the ASF Urberach fishing club and the ASV Messel.
The pond is about 220 m long and about 50 m wide. It has an area of around 1 hectare. An earth dam with a passage dams the water. The Rutschbach flows through the pond . The Kienswiesenteich is located in the Hegbachaue nature reserve near Messel .

Various animal species live on the area; including ducks , kites , pond newts and wild geese . Numerous native fish species animate the pond.
