Kieran Thomas Conry (born February 1, 1950 in Coventry , United Kingdom ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus Bishop of Arundel and Brighton .

Kieran Conry received on 19 July 1975, the sacrament of the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Birmingham .

On May 8, 2001, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Arundel and Brighton. The Archbishop of Westminster , Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor , ordained him episcopal on June 9 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were the United Kingdom Apostolic Pro-Nuncio Emeritus , Archbishop Bruno Bernhard Heim , and the Archbishop of Southwark , Michael George Bowen .

On September 27, 2014, he announced that he had resigned as bishop because he had broken his priestly ordination promises. Pope Francis accepted the resignation on October 4th of the same year.
