Killzone: Shadow Fall is a video game for the PlayStation 4 from the genre of first-person shooter that was developed by Guerrilla Games .

action

The game takes place 30 years after the extensive destruction of Helghans by the war of the vectors and Helghast as part of the plot of Killzone 3 . Following the conflict, the capital of the vectors home planet, Vektora, was divided into a part for the vectors and the Helghast. Since the division, both peoples have been in a kind of cold war .

The plot begins with the escape of the vectanic protagonist Lucas Kellan, who is a child at the time, and his father from the future Helghast part of the capital. During the evacuation, the protagonist's father is killed, who is then placed under the care of a Vectan military.

Years later, Kellan is a Shadow Marshall and operates on secret missions in the Helghast part of the capital. The rest of the game describes the events around a Helghast terrorist group that wants to dissolve the fragile peace between the two parties. The Shadow Marshall prevents the outbreak of a new war as a lone fighter and exposes his foster father as the real warmonger.

Characters

  • Lucas Kellan, the protagonist of the game. He is a Shadow Marshal and is most of all familiar with operations behind the wall that separates the human side and the Helghast side.
  • Thomas Sinclair, the Commander of the Shadow Marshal. He helps Lucas and his father escape to Vektora. For Lucas, he becomes a foster father.
  • Maya "Echo" Visari, is an agent of the Helghast as well as the granddaughter of Scolar Visari and daughter of Hera Visari. She is exchanged for Lucas Kellan in a prisoner swap. Later in the game, she helps Lucas with his assignment.
  • Vladko Tyran, is the leader of a radical underground movement and the main antagonist of the campaign.
  • Dr. Hillary Massar is an ISA scientist developing a biological weapon that can wipe out either the Helghast or the vectors, as well as the half-Helghast / half-humans.
  • Lady Hera Visari is the mother of Maya and daughter of Scolar Visari. She is the regent of the Helghast side of vectors.
  • Anton Saric is the commandant of the Helghast secret service. He has a particularly strong hatred of the vectors, who are responsible for the destruction of Helghan.
  • Jorhan Stahl, is the main antagonist from Killzone 3 , who, as in the end, also the mastermind behind the attacks on the vector side.
  • Michael Kellan, the father of Lucas Kellan, only makes an appearance at the beginning of the campaign where he is killed by Helghast guards.

Gameplay

The game principle is the same as the previous Killzone parts. In contrast to many other games in the first-person shooter genre, the character tends to be sluggish and its weapons are heavy. In Shadow Fall , a drone can also be used to stun enemies and fight them independently.

Multiplayer

In multiplayer you can choose between three different classes, for which the skills and weapons are unlocked. The classes are the scout, the assault soldier, and the auxiliary. The DLC The Insurgent can add another class (the Insurgent). In contrast to the other classes, he only has a secondary weapon at the beginning and has to steal the primary weapon and skills from other players. The standard game contains ten cards, which can be expanded to 17 with the free card packs.
