Kim Karina Birke (born December 29, 1987 in Hanover ) is a former German handball player . She started playing handball at SC Germania List . From 2005 the 1.72 m tall left winger was under contract with Bundesliga club VfL Oldenburg .

Athletic career

Birke went through all youth and junior selections and took part in a junior World Cup for Germany. In her young career, Birke suffered three cruciate ligament ruptures , but she repeatedly fought her way back into the Bundesliga team at VfL Oldenburg. In 2009, 2012 and 2018 she won the DHB Cup with VfL Oldenburg and also the Supercup in 2009 . After the 2018/19 season, she ended her career.
