Kim Jeong-mi ( Korean: 김정미) (born October 16, 1984 ) is a South Korean soccer goalkeeper . She has played for the Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels since 2004 and for the South Korean national team since 2003 and was their record national team from March 9, 2016, but has since been replaced by Cho So-hyun . She is the first Asian goalkeeper to have 100 caps.

Athletic career

Kim has played for Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels since 2004 . She played her first international match on June 10, 2003 against Thailand. She took part in the 2015 World Cup in Canada , where she was used in all four of her team's games. In the quarter-final game against France she received an elbow check from a teammate who knocked her out for a few minutes. But she was able to continue playing afterwards as well as after a headbutt from an opponent in the fight for the ball at the end of the first half, after which she was stunned again. In August 2015, she and her team took part in the women's soccer East Asian Cup, in which South Korea took second place. At the qualifying tournament for the 2016 Olympic Games , she became the first Asian goalkeeper to make her 100th international match . On March 7, in the game against China, she set the national record for Kwon Hah-nul , who was not part of the squad, with her 103rd international match . Two days later she was the sole record national player with her 104th international match. She was not nominated for the 2019 World Cup.
