Kinga Dobay

Kinga Dobay (* 1975 in Târgu Mureș , Socialist Republic of Romania ) is a German-Hungarian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ). She is the granddaughter of the Hungarian soccer player Ștefan Dobay .

Life

Her musical career began with studying the violin. As a result, Kinga Dobay studied musical and then opera singing at the Leipzig University of Music . She completed master classes a. a. with Julia Hamari , Teresa Berganza and Grace Bumbry . This was followed by postgraduate studies at the Maastricht Conservatory with Mya Besselink .

In 2003 the mezzo-soprano made her operatic debut as Carmen in the opera of the same name under the direction of Yakov Kreizberg . Engagements led Kinga Dobay to the opera stages a. a.
