Kira Kener (* 11. August 1974 in San Jose , California as Stephanie Knain ) is a former American stripper , photo model and porn actress . She has officially changed her name and protected it as a trademark.

life and career

Kener is the daughter of a Vietnamese and a Norwegian . She grew up in the Californian city of San José . Kener started out as a stripper at the age of 20 and performed in clubs across the country. It became a major attraction at the Crazy Horse de Paris , the Gentlemen's Club in San Francisco, and the Spearmint Rhino in Southern California. Her talent on the dance floor brought her numerous prizes, including the title Miss Nude Asia in 1997 and 1998, as well as Exotic Dancer Cover Girl of the Year 1998. During an engagement as a stripper in a club on the east coast, Kener was approached by a colleague who had already worked in the porn industry and suggested that she contact Vivid Entertainment Group . She received an exclusive contract for several films and was accepted into the ranks of Vivid girls by Vivid.

She was with Vivid from 1999 to 2005. Her first film was Nurses from 1999. In March 2002 she was on the cover of Playboy magazine together with the Vivid girls Dasha and Tera Patrick . In December 2002 she was voted Penthouse Pet of the Month. In February 2007, Digital Playground released the interactive DVD Virtual Sex with… Kira Kener . In 2007, Kener sued Vivid Video and reached a court settlement.

She contributed to the book How to Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide , published in 2004 . Kener was also portrayed by photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders in his book XXX: 30 Porn-Star Portraits , whose portraits are also exhibited in some of the most important American art museums. The television documentary Thinking XXX was created for this purpose .

Kener currently lives in North Carolina .
