The Kirat Chuli (also Tent Peak ) is a mountain in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and Sikkim in India .

The Kirat Chuli, north of the Kangchenjunga massif , has an altitude of 7365  m . It is located in the extreme northeast of Nepal and in the northwest of Sikkim - 10.38 km north of the eight-thousander Kangchenjunga . The mountain lies on a mountain ridge running in north-south direction. The western edge of the Kirat Chuli is Pyramid Glacier , Kangchendzöngagletscher , Ghunsa and Tamor , a swelling of the river Koshi , drained. The glaciers on the north flank ( Changsang glacier ) and on the east flank ( Tent Peak glacier and Nepal Gap glacier ) are drained via Zemu glacier , Zemu , Lachen and Tista .

The Kirat Chuli was first climbed on May 29, 1939 as part of a Swiss-German expedition by Ernst Grob , Herbert Paidar and Ludwig Schmaderer . The ascent route led over the southwestern sub-peak Nepal Peak (7177 m) to the summit.
