The Fincken Church is a listed building in Fincken in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It belongs to the parish of Massow in the Propstei Neustrelitz, Mecklenburg parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

History and architecture

The plastered brick building was erected around 1744 on the site of a once important estate belonging to the Priegnitz family, which had belonged to the von Blücher family since 1759. The portal projections on the north and south sides are gabled. The building is covered with a hipped roof on which there is a boarded roof turret with a bell. The walls are decorated with a triglyph frieze under the eaves . The walls are structured by arched portals with pilasters and arched windows. The church is on a small hill. Its origins are said to be significantly older; the field stone choir was probably built between 1290 and 1310.

The building has been leased to the community since 1990, on whose behalf the ceiling, roof and floor have now been renovated.
