The Church of Küçükköy is a convent church in the Turkish province of Nigde . Its construction date is unknown, it was renovated in 1834 and consecrated to Saint Nicholas . The church is located in the village of Küçükköy in the central district of the province, about eight kilometers northwest of the provincial capital Niğde .

description

The church is a three-aisled basilica facing east with a narthex to the west. The narthex is divided into three sections with cross vaults . The southern part is closed, the other two open with arches to the west. From the middle part a door leads into the interior. The naos consists of three naves separated by columns, which are closed in the east by semicircular apses . The larger central nave of three pendentive domes surmounted, the aisles are with barrel vaults completed. The walls and pillars are badly damaged in the lower part, the painting in the roof area is quite well preserved. In the spandrels of the central dome there are frescoes of the four evangelists . On the wall in the southwest is a very ruined depiction of the sacrifice of Abraham . Domes and belt arches are adorned with floral ornaments. The room is illuminated through windows in the apses and side windows and above the gallery.

A snake with two dragon heads at the ends runs beneath the consoles that surround the apses. The gallery above the narthex can be entered from a cross-vaulted open annex on the northwest side. The building is surrounded on all four sides by walls made of small rubble stones.
