Kirchhofen is a part of the municipality Spreenhagen in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg .
Geographical location
Kirchhofen is north of the community center. To the north, the Spree runs from the northeast in a south-westerly direction. To the east is the Braunsdorf district and the Kribbelake district. This is followed in a clockwise direction by the community center, the community part Latzwall, the district Neu Hartmannsdorf and north of the Spree the community part Storkowfurt of the community Grünheide (Mark) and Spreewerder, a community part of the district Spreeau (also to Grünheide (Mark)).
history
The establishment of the place goes back to Friedrich II. , Who settled colonists in the area of the Mürwall . Kirchhofen experienced a modest economic upswing through the construction of the Oder-Spree Canal when boatmen settled in the village. Kirchhofen was incorporated into Spreenhagen on September 17, 1961.
Attractions
- At the southern exit of the village, a memorial commemorates those who died in the First and Second World Wars . It is a black obelisk with four steps made of field stones.
