Kyril Christow Kotew (also written Kiril Hristov Kotev , Bulgarian Кирил Христов Котев ; born April 18, 1982 in Plovdiv , Bulgaria ) is a former Bulgarian football player .

Career

Kotew's career began in 1998 at FC Welbaschd . He could not prevail and in 2001 went to Widima-Rakowski Sevliewo in the B Grupa . In 2002 first division Lokomotive Plovdiv took him under contract. There he became a regular player in central defense and won the championship with his team in 2004 . In early 2006, the Bulgarian record champions CSKA Sofia signed him . At CSKA he won the championship in 2008 and reached the group stage of the Europa League in the 2009/10 season . In early 2010 he left the club and returned to Lokomotiv Plovdiv. In the 2010/11 season he only made five appearances there. In the summer of 2011 he moved to Dalian Aerbin in the Chinese League One . There he ended the 2011 season with promotion.

Kotew was initially without a club in the first half of 2012, before he rejoined Lokomotive Plovdiv in the summer. In the summer of 2013 he moved to league competitor Cherno More Varna , where he held a regular position in defense and was able to win the Bulgarian Cup in 2015. Then he again took Lokomotive Plovdiv under contract, where he played for two years. In the summer of 2017 he went to CSKA 1948 Sofia in the Bulgarian third division. After the promotion of his team in summer 2018, he ended his career.
