Kjølsdalen is a village in the Norwegian municipality of Stad in the province of Vestland . It is located on the north bank of the Nordfjord at the exit of the Kjølsdalen valley.
About seven kilometers to the east is Stårheim , about ten kilometers west of Maurstad . Riksvei 15 runs through the village .
The Kjølsdalen Montessoriskule is a school and kindergarten in the village .
The Church of Kjølsdalen was established in 1940 and is run as a cultural monument. It was badly damaged in a storm in 1992, but was then repaired. The prehistoric burial complex Vellekvia is located in the northern part of the village .
