Stårheim is a village in the Norwegian municipality of Stad in the province of Vestland . It is located at the edge of the Stårheimdalen valley, on the north bank of the Eidsfjord . It is one of the oldest settlements on the Nordfjord and is about twelve kilometers from Nordfjordeid .

The place has about 700 inhabitants and a history that goes back to the Middle Ages.

music
- Stårheim Skulekorps
- Around 30 members of the Stårheim Skule wind orchestra, organized as a music corps with uniform, similar to a military music corps.

- Listed wooden hall church from 1864 with attached cemetery , built by Christian Heinrich Grosch .
Sports
With Stårheim Idrettslag, the village has its own sports club, founded in 1935 with the sections football , handball , athletics , cross-country skiing , ski jumping and biathlon . The club's biathlon section in particular is very successful and known through the biathlete and cross-country skier Ronny Hafsås , who was born in Stårheim and still competes for Stårheim IL.

Riksvei 15 and Fylkesvei 661 run through the village . A regular ferry connects Stårheim across the north fjord with Isane in Bremanger municipality .

- Kindergarten , built in 1989, for children between one and six years. Most of the children come directly from Stårheim, some also from Kjølsdalen and Haugen as well as from Nordfjordeid .
- Stårheim skule:
- Primary school with classes from the first to the seventh grade. A total of nine teachers currently teach around 50 students per year.
