Klara von Sachsen-Lauenburg (born December 13, 1518 in Lauenburg , † March 27, 1576 in Barth ) was a princess of Sachsen-Lauenburg and by marriage Duchess of Braunschweig-Gifhorn .

Life

Klara was a daughter of Duke Magnus I of Saxony-Lauenburg (1470–1543) from his marriage to Katharina (1488–1563), daughter of Duke Heinrich I of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel .

She married on September 29, 1547 in the Saxon-Lauenburg castle in Neuhaus in the Darzing region . Duke Franz von Braunschweig-Gifhorn (1508–1549). Later she went to the court of her daughter of the same name in Pomerania Barth, where she also died. Clare was buried in the local Marienkirche . The tomb in the Gifhorn Castle Chapel is empty.
