The Hermit Convent of Albertine ( Third Order of the Franciscans ) and the associated wooden church was built in 1912 in Zakopane style designed and near the Alm Kalatówki on the sleeping mountain in the Western Tatras built. Władysław Zamoyski donated the reason . The monastery is dedicated to the holy brother Albert , who lived in a hermitage not far away in the wilderness of the Tatras . It was expanded by the monks Leon, Anioł and Bonawentura. After a fire in 1977, the neo-Zakopane style monastery and church were rebuilt until 1984. The monastery is inhabited by several monks who are active in the welfare of the poor and who retire here for silent prayer and meditation in nature.
Geographical location
The church and monastery are located in the municipality of Zakopane in the Bystra Valley in the area of the Tatra National Park in the Western Tatras . The Kalatówki Alm is located near the sanctuary . The church is about 1,200 meters above sea level and is surrounded by thick forest.
