Klaudia Dudová

Klaudia Dudová (born September 2, 1988 in Levice , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech film actress . In 2014 she received the Český lev ( German Bohemian Lion ) in the category Best Actress .

Life

Dudová was born in Levice in western Slovakia and belongs to the Roma population . She grew up in Brno and Ústí nad Labem . After elementary school she first learned to be a hairdresser , broke off her apprenticeship and became a saleswoman. After that she worked as a cashier.

Dudová had won Roma dance competitions when she was at school. She was approached at a later event by the director Petr Václav , who was looking for a young Romni to lead the film for his film Cesta ven .

The film won seven Bohemian Lions and was nominated for three more. The director and his film received further nominations at the Filmfest Hamburg (The Political Film of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung ) and at the Trieste Film Festival 2015. In the same year Dudová was awarded for the best performance at the Neisse Film Festival .

Dudová has a daughter.
