Klaus-Jürgen Bathe

Klaus-Jürgen Bathe (born May 26, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German mechanical engineer and lecturer in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . Bathe is considered a pioneer in the field of the finite element method .

Life

Bathe went to school in Oldenburg in Oldenburg and studied in South Africa . In 1967 he graduated from the University of Cape Town with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering . An M.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Bathe received his degree in 1969 from the University of Calgary . He then received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1971. PhD . The topic of his dissertation was a numerical solution to large eigenvalue problems.

He is the author of the ADINA simulation software .
