Klaus-Michael Körner

Klaus-Michael Körner (born November 27, 1952 in Cottbus ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life and work

Klaus-Michael Körner completed an apprenticeship as a weaving specialist. He also graduated from high school and studied theology at the University of Rostock . 1983 doctorate he became Dr. theol. and then worked from 1985 to 1990 as a student pastor of the Protestant student community in Halle / Saale . From 1991 to 1994 he took over the job as district administrator of the district Neustrelitz From 1995 to 1998 he was managing director of the training institute "hoax" - Center for theory and practice of youth services e. V. in Güstrow .

Körner is married and has two children.

Körner joined the SPD in 1989 and was a co-founder of the party in Halle / Saale. He is a member of the SPD district parliamentary group in Mecklenburg-Strelitz .

From 1998 to 2011 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. There he was spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for church, religious and cultural policy, a member of the parliamentary control commission, and chairman of the culture committee. Körner has been chairman of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Culture Council since 2012.

He is also a deputy member of the administrative board of Sparkasse Mecklenburg-Strelitz .
