Klaus-Peter Hildenbrand

Klaus-Peter Hildenbrand (born September 11, 1952 in Dörrebach ) is a former German long-distance runner .

In 1974 he was eighth over 5000 meters at the European Athletics Championships in Rome . The following year he was also eighth at the World Cross Country Championships in Rabat .

His greatest achievement is the bronze medal in the 5000-meter run at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. Over the same distance he set a German record in 1976 with 13: 13.69 minutes and was German champion twice (1975 and 1976). In 1976 he was also German champion in the 10,000 meter run .

For winning the bronze medal, he received the silver bay leaf.

In 1979 he won the Darmstadt city run as a local hero and the Bozen New Year's Eve run .

Klaus-Peter Hildenbrand is 1.81 m tall and weighed 70 kg at competition times. He initially started for LG Andernach-Neuwied and from 1976 for ASC Darmstadt .
