Klaus Budewig

Klaus Budewig (born November 11, 1941 in Höhr-Grenzhausen ; † June 1, 2020 ) was a German judge .

Life

Budewig studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen and became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Erlangen in 1962 . After passing the state examination in law, he joined the Bavarian judicial service in 1969. In 1972 he was first a public prosecutor at the Coburg public prosecutor's office, and in the same year he went to the Coburg Regional Court as a judge . In 1977 he became a judge at the Bamberg Higher Regional Court , and in 1980 he was the presiding judge at the Coburg Regional Court. From 1986 he headed the Bayreuth District Court . President of the Coburg Regional Court since 1993, he was appointed President of the Dresden Higher Regional Court on August 1, 1995 . In the following year he became Vice President and in 2005 President of the Saxon Constitutional Court . He retired on December 4, 2006.
