reception

Of the Dresden artists, Dennhardt had "advanced the furthest into the field of technical-experimental graphics. He operates with the implementation of graphic techniques and results in offset lithography (which is occasionally combined with screen printing). "

“Klaus Dennhardt's artistic work, his movement between the poles of abstraction and realism, are strongly influenced by his experiences in both German states. The artist had made a name for himself in the GDR with abstract works on paper and geometric steel sculptures as an 'avant-garde outsider', he evaded the dictates of realism at the GDR academies. When Klaus Dennhardt left for West Berlin, he turned into a 'contemplative realist'. "
