Klaus Detter

Klaus Detter (born April 5, 1940 in Würzburg ) is a German lawyer. From 1985 until his retirement in 2005 he was a judge at the Federal Supreme Court .

After completing his legal training, Detter entered the higher judicial service of the Free State of Bavaria in 1967 . Initially he was employed by the Aschaffenburg public prosecutor and at the Aschaffenburg regional court . In 1970 he was appointed regional judge and installed as such at the Aschaffenburg regional court. In 1974 his career path took him again to the Aschaffenburg public prosecutor, where he was appointed first public prosecutor. As early as 1975, Detter was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court and moved to the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .

On May 1, 1982 Detter worked at the Bamberg Regional Court, where he took over the chairmanship of a jury chamber .

In 1985 Detters was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. There he was initially active in the 3rd Criminal Senate and from 1989 in the 2nd Criminal Senate.

In 2001, Detter was appointed Doctor Honoris Causa from the Law Faculty of the FernUniversität in Hagen .

Klaus Detter has been retired since April 30, 2005. He is still active at conferences and congresses and continues to teach at the Distance University in Hagen .
