Klaus Dittrich (computer scientist)
Klaus R. Dittrich (born December 30, 1950 in Münchberg , Upper Franconia ; † November 20, 2007 in Mountain View , California ) was a German computer scientist . From 1989 he was Professor of Computer Science at the Institute for Computer Science (IFI) at the University of Zurich and Head of the Database Technology Research Group (DBTG).
He received his doctorate in 1982 at the Institute for Program Structures and Data Organization at the University of Karlsruhe under Peter Lockemann , was a post-doc at the IBM Almaden Research Center in 1984 and from 1985 to 1989 head of the database systems department at the Research Center for Computer Science (FZI) at the University of Karlsruhe.
