Klaus Dohrn (banker)

Klaus Dohrn (born May 23, 1905 in Breslau ; † July 25, 1993 in Feldkirchen-Westerham ) was a German banker.

Life and activity

Dohrn was a son of the composer and conductor Georg Dohrn (1867–1942) and his wife Hedwig geb. Commichau.

He studied business and was 1931 in Wroclaw with the work International electricity trading Dr. rer. pole. PhD.

From 1961 to 1972 he was the owner of the Berliner Handels- und Frankfurter Bank , then a member of the supervisory board and, until 1980, deputy chairman of the administrative board.

In 1970 Dohrn participated in the merger of the Berliner Handels-Gesellschaft and the Frankfurter Bank to form BHF-Bank . Dohrn was a senator and treasurer of the Max Planck Society .

Dohrn, who privately collected modern painting, worked in the administration of the Städelsche Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt.

From 1968 to 1989 Dohrn was a member of the administrative board of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, from 1969 to 1978 as chairman.

In the 1970s, Dohrn was chairman of the board of directors of Berliner Handels-Gesellschaft.
