Klaus Evertz (artist)

Klaus Evertz (born March 13, 1958 in Xanten ) is a German visual artist , art therapist and lecturer in art therapy .

Life

After graduating from high school at Stiftsgymnasium Xanten, Evertz began studying painting and philosophy at the Art Academy and Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . Evertz has been working with tumor patients at Cologne University Hospital since 1984 , especially in the palliative center, where from 1990 he developed the theoretical art therapy form of analytical-aesthetic art therapy , as well as "psycho-oncological art therapy". 1995 Establishment of a practice for art and psychotherapy (HPG). Since 1993 Evertz has been a lecturer in psycho-oncological art therapy at the Mildred Scheel Academy , Cologne University Hospital . In 2002 the Institute for Art Therapy and Art Analysis Cologne was founded . Teaching assignments at various universities.

In painting since 1985, development of “color deals”, investigations into the beginning and origin of painting images, exhibitions at home and abroad. Numerous lectures and publications on aesthetics, psycho-oncological art therapy, the psychoanalytic theory of art and the cultural and therapeutic significance of pre- and perinatal psychology.
