Klaus Firlei

Klaus Firlei (born January 22, 1947 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ), labor and social law specialist and university professor. From 1989 to 1999 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Firlei attended elementary school in the Salzburg district of Maxglan between 1953 and 1957 and then graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in Salzburg- Lehen from 1957 to 1965 . He passed his Matura with distinction in 1965 and then did military service from 1965 to 1966. In 1966 he began studying law and political science at the University of Salzburg , which he obtained in 1971 with the academic degree Dr. iur. completed. Firlei subsequently remained loyal to the university sector and worked between 1971 and 1981 as a university assistant at the Institute for Labor and Social Law at the University of Salzburg. In addition, he was active as a lecturer at the Universities of Linz and Klagenfurt , and between 1973 and 1975 he was lecturer for political science (political economy) at the University of Salzburg. In 1981 he completed his habilitation, in 1986 he was appointed associate professor for labor and social law at the University of Salzburg. Firlei was the head of the university course for legal informatics from 1988 to 1990 and in 1998 became a university professor at the Institute for Labor Law and Social Law at the University of Salzburg. He began in 2000 as a lecturer at the university course in social management, was a lecturer at the university course in migration management and from 2000 worked as a lecturer at the Academy for Law and Taxes . In addition, he became Scientific Director of Firlei & Partner Projektmanagement - Trendforschung OEG in 1995 .

Politics and functions

Firlei joined the SPÖ in 1969 and was from 1967 to 1971 ÖH mandate of the Association of Socialist Students. From September 13, 1989 and April 26, 1999, he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament and from 1994 to 1999 he held the position of deputy chairman of the SPÖ state parliament club. He was a member of the European Commission of the SPÖ, from 1999 to 2005 managing director of the Salzburg Commission and from 1999 President of the Board of Trustees of the Robert Jungk Library for Future Issues .
