Klaus Hübschmann (born November 15, 1932 in Grünstädtel ; † June 18, 1991 in Aue (Saxony) ) was a track and field athlete who competed for the German Democratic Republic (GDR).

Career

The athlete from SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt had not yet been able to place himself in the GDR championships until 1956. At the championships in 1956 in Erfurt he won the long jump with 7.26 m and a clear lead over Heinz Auga , in the triple jump he won with 14.31 m just ahead of Karl Thierfelder . In 1957 he took second place behind Thierfelder with 14.22 m.

After that, Hübschmann was only able to place himself twice in GDR championships, in 1961 and 1962 he finished fifth. On June 10, 1962 in Leipzig, he achieved the longest jump of his career with 15.18 m.

Hübschmann worked as an engineer; he was married and had two daughters.
