Klaus Hofbauer

Klaus Hofbauer (born July 26, 1947 in Kothmaißling ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

After completing his secondary school leaving certificate , Hofbauer completed an apprenticeship for senior administration at the Cham district office . Here he initially worked in the field of public safety and order and finally became economic and traffic officer for the Cham district in 1982 .

Klaus Hofbauer is widowed and has two daughters.

Political party

Hofbauer was initially involved in the Junge Union (JU) and was chairman of the Cham JU district association and deputy chairman of the Upper Palatinate JU district association from 1971 to 1980 .

Hofbauer is a member of the boards of the CSU district association Cham and the CSU district association Upper Palatinate and is also deputy chairman of the working group on environmental policy and state planning of the CSU.

MP

From 1972 to 1978 Hofbauer was a member of the municipal council of Windischbergerdorf . Since 1978 he has been a member of the town council of Cham and since 1998 also of the district council of the district of Cham.

Hofbauer has been a member of the German Bundestag since 1998 . Here he is chairman of the working group VI of the CSU regional group for transport, building and urban development, the environment, nature conservation, agriculture and consumer protection as well as deputy chairman of the local politics working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . Hofbauer is also deputy chairman of the German- Czech parliamentary group .

Klaus Hofbauer has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Schwandorf constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election , he achieved 58.1% of the first votes .

In September 2008, he announced that he would no longer stand for election in the 2009 federal elections.

Public offices

Hofbauer was second mayor of the community of Windischbergerdorf from 1972 to 1978 and deputy mayor of Cham from 1987 to 2002.
