Klaus König (legal scholar)
Klaus König (born April 21, 1934 in Bad Schwarzbach , Lower Silesia Province ) is a German lawyer and administrative scientist .
König studied law and political science , received his doctorate as Dr. jur. as well as Dr. rer. pole. and completed his habilitation in public law and administration .
From 1972 to 2002 he held the chair for administrative science, government theory and public law at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer (DHV Speyer).
He worked as research consultant, professor, head of studies, government director, part-time judge, rector of the DHV Speyer (1974 to 1976), ministerial director in the Federal Chancellery (1982 to 1987), for which he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, and as managing director of the research institute for public administration at DHV Speyer (1996 to 1999).
König performed advisory activities in the field of government and administration in German, foreign and international institutions, lecturing and research activities at German and foreign universities as well as advanced training and research institutes.
König's main areas of work are government and public administration in general, administrative modernization, planning and legislation, public tasks, government and administrative organization, public service , international administrative cooperation and globalization . In September 2019 he was one of about 100 constitutional law teachers who, with the open appeal for the right to vote, Downsized the Bundestag! turned to the German Bundestag .
He is co-editor of the administrative archive .
