Klaus L. Berghahn

Klaus L. Berghahn (born August 5, 1937 in Düsseldorf ; † November 1, 2019 ) was a German literary scholar .

Career

Berghahn received his doctorate in Münster in 1967. In the same year he became Assistant Professor of German at the University of Wisconsin – Madison , in 1971 he was appointed Associate Professor and in 1973 Professor. From 1994 to 1997 he was Chair of the German Department at the University of Wisconsin and from 1998 to 2005 Director of the Center for German and European Studies . In 2007 he retired .
