Klaus Leipold

Klaus Leipold (born June 23, 1955 in Schlüchtern ) is a German legal scholar and criminal defense attorney .

Live and act

Leipold studied law at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen from 1975 to 1980 and passed the first and second state examinations in 1980 and 1983, respectively. In addition to working as a research assistant at the Chair for Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and International Criminal Law at the University of Gießen (1981–1983), he was a doctoral candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg from 1980 to 1983 and an employee at the University of Freiburg (1993-1984). In 1986 he received his doctorate on traffic accident escape - A comparative law study of the countries Austria, Switzerland and the Federal Republic of Germany .

He was admitted to the bar in 1985 and has since worked specifically in criminal law . In 1995 he was appointed specialist lawyer for criminal law .

In addition, Leipold works in the legal training for the Criminal Law Working Group of the German Lawyers 'Association , for the German Lawyers' Academy, in the trainee training at the Higher Regional Court in Munich and is a member of the presidium of the Peutinger Collegium .

Since 2012 he has been a lecturer in criminal tax law and environmental criminal law at the University of Munich . He is also the managing editor of the magazine Strafverteidigerpraxis and editor-in-chief of the magazine Strafverteidiger Forum .
